Something has definitely changed. They are overbooking like crazy. I've had to wait over an hour and a half the last two times. And this last time Dr Fish walked in and literally spent less than 2 minutes. Unacceptable! Refused to refill the correct prescription for a corneal transplant patient that needs the dosage for life to avoid rejection and failure. Very disappointed.

Terrible experience. I recommend any new patients to look elsewhere for a ophthalmologist care provider. The techs are very dismissive and rude especially the girl techs. Bailey was very rude and so was this other chubby girl with blue eyes whose name escapes me. The doctor was dismissive to my statements and not helpful. I am very disappointed in the service and care I was provided with. I will not be returning and am surprised this practice is operational.

I wouldn't work or go to this practice. They wasted my time acted interested two interviews and then asked for references after the second and never called them. Why ask? Lori, office manager was not honest and never responded back. Looks disorganized and only for profit. Not a caring place.

I had the most unpleasant experience trying to get a contact lens. I'm a decorated combat veteran who served in Vietnam. I was not impressed with this company. Right away this "doctor" began to tell me how it would be difficult to fit a contact lens. Before she even looked at me! The VA , because I'm 100% disabled, always has paid for my contact lens. They wanted me to sign a form about paying the difference. I was out of there! This company has the feeling of a 'small factory'. NEXT!

TL;DR be certain if you want an annual eye exam you explicitly say it and get scheduled with the only doctor who gives them. Overall the place is fine. Upon arrival the front of the house is welcoming. I was 5 mins early but I ended up waiting 20 mins to be seen by a tech/assistant (not sure their title) who performed 95% of the eye exam. I later found out that they had put my apt in as a medical apt (meaning that I made an appointment because I had an issue- which I did not) and not an annual eye check up. No one communicated to me that for me to get an annual check up I had to see one particular doctor. I had specifically said this was for my annual eye exam when I made the phone call and whoever I spoke to did not inform me I had to schedule with just one doctor, so when I asked for a different appointment date they scheduled me but put it under medical which means I pay more for this apt out of pocket rather than bill my vision insurance. I asked if they could switch which insurance they were billing when I was there but they could not because I saw a different doctor, not the only doctor they use for just annual exams. I’m not even sure if I received the same care that I would have received if my appointment was booked for my annual and not a “medical apt”. The apt was super fast- I read about 3 lines of letters for each eye, had a pressure test and pupils dilated (all done by the assistant). But I remember the year before being asked to read more and also compare which images were more blurry. No one even told me my eye sight verdict, I had to ask what it was. They said if I want to know I should sign up for the portal. The doctor I saw for 5-10 mins was fine. She was friendly and answered questions but since I didn’t come for medical reasons there wasn’t much to say. I’m pretty sure this place is owned by a PE company and the staff have to work within very limited confines to churn a profit. Just feels very rushed and not patient centered.

Got fitted for a Scleral lens due to having scarring in my right eye due to acanthamoeba keratitis. I was told that my vision could be improved close to 20/20 by having cataract surgery… this was a shock of excitement to me! Fast forward to my follow up apt with another doctor in the practice… “Cataract surgery won’t work. You’ll need a cornea transplant.” How in the world do two doctors give you two very different answers. You can imagine my disappointment. After a year + of thinking I wouldn’t be able to see out of my right eye correctly again… being told by a doctor that they could get it close to 20/20 again! Then to be told… nope. You need a cornea transplant in a very condescending manner. I get there is a difference between a cataract and scarring… clearly, the doctors at Colorado Eye Consultants do not. Said doctor is now leaving the practice… so, in order to get a scleral lens, I have to do the whole fitting process over… $$$$$

Had me in the wrong prescription sclerals for the whole summer and told me I was just “adjusting” but then 3 months later found out it was entirely wrong. Had to pay 2x for shipping the lenses to my home bc once the right eye lens was correct I realize the left eye was still wrong so I had to go back again and get the right prescription. Very pricey serum tears for my chronic severe dry eyes, have since found a less expensive source and they last longer. Appointments felt rushed. Thankful I have my sclerals now but I have since switched providers to do my future scleral check ups since they’re still fogging and not able to be worn long enough like they should.

I recently had the Epi-On Cross-Linking procedure performed here as a participant in the PXL-Platinum 330 System Study being done by Doctor Lance S. Forstot. The procedure went very smoothly, recovery is going as expected, and so far I am very pleased. The only reason I'm giving four stars instead of five is because I have a couple points of criticism. When originally discussing the procedure, I was assured that Dr. Forstat has performed Epi-On Cross-Linking thousands of times over many years now and has had great success. This led me to believe that one, Dr. Forstat would be performing the procedure, and two, thousands of people have done this exact procedure. The truth of the matter is that Dr. Forstat only oversees the procedure. This meant that he only checked in between stages while his research technician, Andy, performed the entire procedure. I believe I saw Dr. Forstat for maybe a total of five to ten minutes at most while he checked in to make sure everything was going as it should. Andy did an excellent job and Dr. Forstat seemed to show up at the critical moments when his expertise was required, so this isn't a complaint about the procedure, only about the expectation I was given. The second part is that while the Epi-On Cross-Linking may have been performed here thousands of times with a great success rate, on the day of the procedure I was told that the study I was in to test the PXL-Platinum 330 System has only had about 300 participants in the US. So the thousands of successes that had come before me didn't really matter at that point. While I'm absolutely certain that no doctor would put their reputation on the line for equipment they didn't believe would do the best job possible, especially a doctor with such a great track record as Dr. Forstat, finding this out at the last minute didn't make me feel so great. So, just to reiterate, my critique has absolutely nothing to do with the procedure or even Dr. Forstat, who was very professional and nice during the short time I did spend with him, only the expectations that were set. I feel it's important that anyone considering Epi-On as a part of this study should be aware of the things I've mentioned here.

It is difficult to come to an appointment because it forces me to look at the fact that i am losing my vision. Everyone I delt with was very kind and respectful to me. It is not easy to be in Dr Sturdy's shoes as she watches my vision decline. She and the whole staff were very professional. They all get 5 stars!
